Tomoaki Hata is our resident cultural attaché representing the Japanese Arts. This professional sociologist will soon be granted his PhD from Osaka University . He has a background in Japanese Law. Tomoaki's field of expertise is the Japanese fusion of design, media, and culture, and its impactive interplay with other global communication movements. He also is a connoisseur of the world-music scene.
Aside from his passion for studying the arts, Tomoaki is an internationally acclaimed still-photographer. His soulful images have been exhibited together, with other world-class Japanese artists such as Yoko Ono and Takashi Murakami.
He also known in the academic world for his 2004 art-criticism essay entitled "Otaku, Anime, Takashi Murakami: Discourse Around Super Flat ".
Currently, this well versed, Japanese and English speaker, lives in Kyoto, Japan, and regularly travels to the United States for artistic and business consultations.
